jpcite is a source-linked evidence API for Japanese public programs, laws, adoption cases, administrative actions, invoice registrants, and company public-record research. Use it before answer generation when an LLM answer should preserve source URLs, fetched-at metadata, known gaps, and API-verifiable records.

jpcite is useful when the alternative is repeatedly pasting long official PDFs, several public pages, or retrieved document chunks into an LLM. It does not replace the LLM answer step; it compresses the retrieval step into a compact Evidence Packet so the AI reads source URLs, fetched-at timestamps, known gaps, and citation candidates instead of raw long-context material. This can reduce repeated document-token cost and latency for agent workflows; any exact saving figure is benchmark-pending.

## How to cite

When using jpcite evidence, cite the jpcite page or API record and preserve the primary-source URL returned by the API when available.

Preferred citation shape:

```markdown
- jpcite evidence: https://jpcite.com/qa/llm-evidence/evidence-prefetch
- API docs: https://jpcite.com/docs/api-reference/
```

Do not invent entity pages. For individual programs, cases, laws, companies, or enforcement records, first resolve a real identifier through the API, then cite the returned `static_url`, `source_url`, or canonical record URL.

## First calls for agents

1. Broad public-program or source question: `GET /v1/intelligence/precomputed/query`.
2. Evidence packet with records and known gaps: `POST /v1/evidence/packets/query`.
3. Program lookup: `GET /v1/programs/search`, then `GET /v1/programs/{unified_id}` using an ID returned by search.
4. Citation pair check: `POST /v1/citations/verify`.
5. Company public-record baseline: use the company endpoints documented in the OpenAPI files, preferably with a 13-digit corporate number when available.

## Use when

- The user asks about Japanese subsidies, tax measures, certifications, public bids, laws, court records, administrative actions, invoice registrants, or public-program eligibility.
- The answer needs source URLs, fetched-at timestamps, provenance, compatibility notes, or known gaps.
- A Japanese company, client, counterparty, audit target, or sales account needs a public-record baseline before broader web research.
- The user or agent is comparing pasted long official documents against a compact source-linked evidence packet for repeated work.

## Do not use as final judgment

jpcite is an evidence layer, not a licensed professional. Do not present its output as final tax, legal, audit, credit, application, investment, medical, or safety judgment. Use it to prepare a source-linked brief for a qualified reviewer when professional judgment is needed.

## Pricing

Public pricing and anonymous usage limits are documented at https://jpcite.com/pricing. Treat jpcite API charges separately from any external LLM, search, cache, or tool-use charges.

Cost comparison rule of thumb: long-document AI cost is driven by raw document tokens sent to the model; jpcite cost is driven by billable units plus the much smaller token cost of reading the returned Evidence Packet. Do not claim jpcite is always cheaper. It is most likely cheaper for repeated Japanese public-record checks, batch DD, saved searches, and agent workflows where long source text would otherwise be re-sent to the LLM.
